softball-24

What a game! The girls were fired up and ready to play. I would like to say that I like the way the girls battled back. Even though there was some adversity, they fought hard all the way to the end. I would like to say that the girls are getting better in every aspect of the game: pitching, hitting and defense. I truly believe that we will start turning some of these one point losses into wins.

Good job Allie on earning the game ball. She got a triple in our last at bat and made a good defensive stop. Good job Alliecat.

Girls, keep working hard and we’re gonna go a long way!

GO XPLOSIONS!

Talk about challenges. Heather was sick. She got overheated before the game even started. Later, Lilly took a blow to the head. And Alyssa missed the ball and it hit her hand, causing it to swell. We’re grateful everyone is ok.

What a close game! All the girls do so very well. We have a lot to be proud of. The girls are improving with each game.

McKenzie got the game ball. Great job!

It was a fun game against the Ashland City Angels. Destiny B provided great defense. She was responsible for getting two girls out and she also did well offensively with a double and an RBI. Great Job Destiny. She, of course, got the game ball. There was no question, just ask the girls.

All the girls did very very well. Our first win was exciting. Thanks again to Coach Sonny for the ice cream celebration.

Today’s game was at Coopertown. When we got there, the umpires told us that they play by different rules. The girls were a little nervous about the idea of stealing, but we knew they would step up to the challenge. There were a few other new rules for the girls to remember, and we tried to remind them of the new rules as the game went on. I would like to thank all the girls for paying attention, and adjusting to the changes!

Our hitting was much improved over the Old hickory game. Keep up the good work and keep swinging the bats.

Lexi started the game pitching, and did a great job in her first game pitching. She gave up two hits, five earned runs, and walked seven, and struck out two. She got the game ball, and it was very much deserved.

Brooke also pitched. She gave up three hits, two earned runs, and four walks. She also struck out one.

Rain has kept us from playing our scheduled games until today.  Our first official game of the season was very cold.

Brooke pitched two innings.  She gave up eight earned runs, with one strike out, and walked eight.

Allie pitched one inning. She gave up four earned runs, and walked five.

We made some mistakes, but they are still learning the game. Because of rain, we have only had a few practices.

As we get in more practices, we are sure to improve. The girls enjoy playing, and we anticipate a winning season.

Go XPLOSIONS!
